Ben Lima, Editor-in-Chief

A second-year University of Florida political science major from North Port, FL, Ben started his work for FPR as a contributing writer in October 2016, before taking over as Editor-in-Chief in January of 2017. Ben is particularly passionate about increasing civic engagement and knowledge through journalism and activism.

In addition to his involvement with the Florida Political Review, Ben is an active member of the UF Model United Nations team and the UF Student Government Senate.

Ben is passionate about FPR because it serves as an open forum where students from all walks of life can give their perspective on our political environment and share it with the world – while readers can simultaneously inform themselves on important issues on the local, state, and national levels.

Following graduation, Ben hopes to work in practical politics, perhaps in the context of campaigns, in the halls of Congress, or elsewhere. Wherever he goes, his goal is ultimately to make a positive impact and better his surrounding community.
